Full Time, Live in Catering/ Chef Assistant/s Required

We have an exciting position for an individual or a couple who loves food, likes being part of a busy team, enjoys beautiful surroundings and wants to be part of an exciting new venture. 

 

Hello, my name is Marc and I operate the Red Lion in Betchworth, Surrey. We are a busy pub, restaurant & venue with 11 ensuite bedrooms. 

During the lockdown period, we used our time to create a wonderful outside area and we also added a further 5 bedrooms. The aim was to create a unique setting to attract the venue market, utilising the rooms and all the spaces we have here.  
It has proved very successful. 
We are a busy and thriving venue with over x40 large parties booked in within the next 6 months and already 18 weddings booked for 2024. 
Our bar is busy, and we have many regular and local people that use us. 
Our food is fairly traditional in style but with little twists. We are independent and enjoy changing the dishes regularly.  

We are now looking for an individual or couple to join us to help us achieve two main objectives. 
Firstly, to be trained and then look after the main kitchen (with support) whilst our head chef is either on days off or on annual leave. Secondly, it is to help us grow our new concept, a fresh delivery/ takeaway business which we are launching very soon. This concept has involved us creating a secondary kitchen area which is independent from the main kitchen and is a different project for  the Red Lion. 
The ideal person/s would be generally food led and have had some experience in kitchen life. However, I also encourage people who want to get started in this line of work. 
The positions are full time, contracted with 6 weeks paid holiday. 
2 days off week together, i.e Friday & Sat and if a couple would always be off at the same time.
Salaries range – upon discussion upon application I am a generous employer and believe in good pay  
Live in is available to the right candidate/s. 

If applying as a couple capacity then further assistance can be given at the front of house to fulfil hours. 

We are set in an area of outstanding natural beauty with Reigate and Dorking only a couple of miles away.  The venue itself is set next to a cricket pitch which is used often. Idyllic lifestyle.
